Stone and wood were my first sculptural mediums. 
I now hand build in wet clay with or without an armature. 
I burnish the surface using a smooth stone. Some of these pieces are cast in glass or bronze by the lost wax process.

Other work in clay I finish by pit, smoke or raku firings. 
The fire and smoke will leave a patina on the smoothed surfaces. For raku, I use some glaze for color.
